yourtown is a national community-based organisation with over 55 years experience working with young people facing challenges to engaging in learning and work. We currently operate across five states, employing over 650 people who are committed to helping young people build brighter futures. We operate Kids Helpline, local parenting programmes and family refuges, providing face-to-face, web-based and telephone counselling services and support including 24/7 access to a specialist arm of Kids Helpline. We also deliver personal support, education, training and employment services at a local and national level. Since 2009 yourtown employment services has placed over 16,000 young people into jobs.
Transition To Work Program Overview
Transition To Work (TTW) is a service to help young people aged 15 to 21 improve their chances of finding and keeping a job. We help prepare for getting a job with a focus on workplace expectations including presentation, attitude, communication and reliability. We assist young people by tailoring our support to their needs and goals and by providing practical support in a step-by-step process to find their next suitable job or get into education or training.
Smart Skilled and Hired Youth Employment Program Overview
The Smart Skilled and Hired Youth Employment Program helps young people aged 15 to 24 overcome barriers to employment and gain the skills and experience to improve their long-term job prospects and community involvement. This includes people in precarious employment due to reduced hours of work. Each person receives individualised and practical support including training, mentoring and a range of services to help address any barriers to securing a job and succeeding in their chosen field
