Child Protection Helpline
The Child Protection Helpline is a twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, statewide call centre staffed by professionally qualified caseworkers to receive and screen all reports about suspected abuse or neglect of a child or young person or those at risk of harm from abuse or neglect. Community Services is mandated under the Children and Young Persons (Care & Protection) Act 1998 to conduct assessments and protective investigation of reports of cases of child abuse and neglect.

All initial inquiries about Child Protection Case Management should be made through the Community Services Helpline; matters relating to an established case can be made through the Community Services Centre managing the case: if not sure who is managing a case approach the Helpline
