Mental Health Carers NSW - Carer Peak Advisory Committees
Mental Health Carers NSW seek people with lived experience or people who have had lived experience of caring for someone with mental illness, people who have a keen interest or work in that area, to become involved in their Carer Peak Advisory Committees.
Carer Peak Advisory Committee:
The primary aim of the Carer Peak Advisory Committee was to provide the link between the Mental Health Carers NSW (MHCN) Board, MHCN management and staff and the Helpline on carers issues by providing MHCN advice, input and objectiveness from carers to identify projects, activities and advocacy issues and regular exchange of carer views on topics for which MHCN is asked to comment.
Out of this Committee, three sub-committees were formed to allow space to focus on specific issues and vulnerable populations affected by mental illness:
- Young Persons Peak Advisory Committee
- Older Persons Peak Advisory Committee
- Alcohol and Drug Peak Advisory Committee
Meetings:
Meetings run bi-monthly (each committee has a separate date and time) at the Mental Health Carers NSW office in Woolloomooloo – Level 5, Suite 501, 80 William Street (option to teleconference in)
